they changed “periko” to “itoy” thinking they have minimized the bad connotation but it did not serve the purpose. almost everyone knows that the substitute name for the Penis is “itoy” in layman’s lingo. Even the europeans use the word “puppy” as a substitute. Nice work there.

How are you, Niña? The US Dept of State Foreign Service Institute has classified languages to fall under 4 categories based on its level of difficulty. Romanian, like Spanish, falls under Category 1. Meaning, it is one of the “easiest” languages for speakers of English, requiring 600-750 hours of classwork for minimal proficiency. Those under category 3 and 4 like Arabic and Korean are considered difficult and requiring above 2000 hours of study.
